Budapest - the capital of Hungary, its main political, cultural, commercial, industrial and transport center. In Budapest, home to over 1.8 million inhabitants, is the sixth largest city in the European Union. Budapest is the only city located on both banks of the Danube River: in 1873 the city of Buda and Obuda on the west side of the river together with the town of Pest on the left (east) side. These two areas are still different from each other with their contrasting structure.

More than an ancient, small and charming beauty of Buda, with its cobbled streets, little picturesque colored houses and a combination of medieval and neoclassical architecture, lies on the gentle hills of the western side of the Danube. It is famous for historical serfs Hill - a long, narrow and flat elevation, bordered by cobbled and surrounded by well-preserved buildings in the Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance styles. Built in neo-Gothic Parliament building on the banks of the Danube - the most famous building in Budapest. At a distance it is very similar to the building of the Parliament of England, but without Big Ben. The most beautiful view on it opens with Castle Hill.

Although during the Second World War and the Revolution in 1956 was destroyed about 30 thousand houses, the past still breathes in the often crumbling detail preserved ancient buildings.
